Partunate period (starting at birth until between fifteen and thirty minutes after birth)
This period began with the release of the fetus from the mother's uterus and ends after the umbilical cord is cut and tied. Until this is done, the baby is still a pascamatur, the environment outside the mother's body.
Now the baby is a separate individual, independent and no longer a parasite. During this period the infant must make adjustments to the new environment outside the mother's body.
