Easily consumed soft foods
The age factor makes the elderly began to lose teeth. These conditions make the grandparents difficult to chew food. In fact, they still need a lot of nutrients essential to daily activities. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration gives some alternative food to help the elderly who have difficulty chewing food for their nutritional needs are met.
- If it is difficult to chew the fruit, can consume fruit juice or canned. Therefore, canned fruit is softer than the natural fruit.
- For vegetables, served with a blend and cook until tender. But, do not cook it too long. Because, how it can eliminate the nutrient content of vegetables.
- Meat substitutes are hard to chew are eggs, milk, cheese, and yogurt.
- As an alternative to bread, should eat cooked cereal, bread pudding, and rice.
