CHILD-children need to undergo some hearing tests regularly. The goal, identify any symptoms of hearing loss before it becomes severe. The question is, when the inspection is done? Association of Speech-Language-Hearing United States (ASLHA) provide guidance whenever children need to undergo a hearing test. Recommended, tests undertaken in the following occasions:
- Before the children start school, and every year since the child entered kindergarten through third grade elementary school. The test should be repeated when children enter grade 7 and grade 11.
- If there is concern about the ability of language, speech, learning, or hearing children.
- If there is a history of deafness in families.
- If there is a persistent ear infection.
- If there are problems with the shape of the skull or face that can affect hearing. Alternatively, there is a head injury that made him lose consciousness.
- If there are other factors that could cause hearing loss. For example, many times heard the noise and loud.
